Their Eyes Were Watching God
by Zora Neale Hurston

Has anyone read this book? Heather got me reading it. At first I resisted but finally took the plunge and enjoyed it very much. Oprah made it into a TV movie, but didn't do the book justice.

I posted already once but I think it might have gotten lost, so in case there are two posts by me, that is why...
This is one of my top 10 favorite books ever. It is a BEAUTIFUL book. Incidentally, did you know that Hurston died so poor that they buried her in an unmarked grave? She was a folklorist (not telling folklore, so much as gathering it), as well as a writer. She pretty much had my dream job. Except for the dying poor/no money part. I like that my job takes care of me. :)
